Prestige Foods is a family-owned and operated business with roots in the meat industry that span nearly 120 years.
Founded in 1990 by Marc Sokolik, Prestige Foods was built on a legacy of experience in the meat business. Marc began his career with his family's company, Royal Packing in St. Louis. Founded by his grandfather in 1907, Royal Packing grew to become the largest beef packer in St. Louis, where Marc served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. When the industry transitioned from carcass beef to boxed beef, Royal Packing ultimately closed its doors.
Fortunately, Marc had developed strong relationships throughout the meat industry while serving on the boards of two major meat-packing organizations. These connections led to new opportunities and inspired the creation of Prestige Foods.
The company began with a single transaction—helping a meat industry contact solve an inventory challenge. As word spread, more customers sought Marc's expertise in moving excess and specialty products from warehouses. Over time, Prestige Foods developed a nationwide network of suppliers and customers, steadily growing into a trusted source for value-driven food products.
Today, Prestige Foods generates several million dollars in annual sales by providing independent distributors with high-value purchasing opportunities. Our product offerings include:

In 2016, Marc's daughter, Kim Sokolik, joined the company to help drive growth and expand customer relationships. Kim brought valuable foodservice experience from her work with a local St. Louis distributor and later with Foodmaker.
In 2024, Kim's son, Cameron Sokolik, joined the business. With a background in marketing and sales, Cameron brings fresh ideas, a modern perspective, and a new generation of leadership to the company.
Today, three generations of the Sokolik family work together to serve customers with integrity, industry expertise, and personalized service.
